Oyo House of Assembly Service Commission Begins Recruitment for 33 Job Roles

The Oyo State House of Assembly Service Commission has officially commenced its 2025 recruitment exercise, opening its online portal on Monday, July 7, 2025, for applicants seeking employment within the state’s legislative service. The announcement, made in a statement signed by Hon. Femi Julius Okedoyin, Chairman of the Commission, outlines the state’s plan to fill 33 key administrative and technical job positions.

According to Hon. Okedoyin, “This recruitment drive reflects the Oyo State Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the legislative workforce and creating meaningful job opportunities for our people.” He explained that the roles span across various departments and levels, giving a wide range of qualified applicants a chance to participate.

The vacancies cover several areas including Administrative Officer II, Accountant II, Information and Public Relations Officer II, State/Legislative Counsel I, Sergeant-at-Arms, and Legislative Officer II.

Also listed are positions such as Official Reporter, Librarian II, Budget Officer II, and Higher Executive Officers across General Duties, Accounts, and Information.

Other roles open for recruitment include Confidential Secretary I and III, Assistant Executive Officers in different departments, Assistant Technical Officer (Electrical), Assistant Superintendent of Press, Assistant Store Officer, Secretarial Assistant II and IV, Clerical Officer II, Health Assistant, Technical Assistant I (Electrical), Clerical Assistant, Office Assistant, Store Assistant, Motor Driver, Watchman, and Gardener.

To qualify, applicants must hold the appropriate academic and professional credentials. For example, many of the Grade Level 08 roles require a university degree or equivalent from recognised institutions. Candidates for these higher-level positions must also have successfully passed the Public Service Examination (PSE) conducted by ASCON between 2023 and 2025, often with a minimum Merit Grade.

For lower-level roles, the requirements vary, with many demanding secondary school certificates, technical training, or trade certifications. Certain positions also call for valid driving licences or prior relevant experience, particularly for roles like Motor Driver or Technical Assistant.

The recruitment portal will remain open for seven days, with the deadline set for Monday, July 14, 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the Oyo State Government Job Portal at https://jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng/hoa/ and click on “Apply Now” to complete their application.
