The Ekiti State Government has officially scheduled Saturday, July 19, 2025, for the written examination for teaching and non-teaching positions in public secondary schools. This update was confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr. Michael Boluwade.
He explained that the upcoming exam marks the second phase of the recruitment process and will take place at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. The written test is strictly for candidates who achieved the cut-off scores in the recent computer-based test (CBT), which formed the first stage of the exercise.
“All candidates are to be at the examination venue by 8:00 a.m. for accreditation,” Boluwade said.
He stated that the pass mark is set at 50 percent for most subjects and non-teaching categories, while Mathematics has a slightly lower cut-off score of 40 percent. He added that all qualified candidates will receive specific instructions either through email or the official recruitment portal.
Boluwade emphasized the importance of proper documentation, noting, “All candidates must come with a coloured printout of their registration form and their CBT result. Failure to meet this condition will result in disqualification from the written examination.”
Candidates must already hold recognised teaching qualifications such as NCE, B.Ed, B.Sc (Ed), or have degrees like B.A, B.Sc, B.Tech, or HND alongside a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) to be eligible for this stage.
The TESCOM secretary warned against examination malpractice, stating, “Impersonation or any form of misconduct during the exam will attract strict sanctions.”
