The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Wing has announced a recruitment drive for the position of Strategic Communications and Digital Engagement Manager at its office in Wuse, Abuja. The role is being described as central to shaping the public image of the youth wing while building stronger relationships with stakeholders and members.
According to the statement released, “The APC National Youth Wing is seeking a highly skilled, innovative, and motivated Strategic Communications and Digital Engagement Manager to lead our communications, branding, and digital engagement efforts.” The announcement explained that the ideal candidate must be a team player with strong leadership and managerial experience, capable of supervising a dynamic team while pushing forward-thinking strategies.
Key responsibilities for the role include developing and implementing communication and digital engagement strategies that align with the Youth Wing’s vision. The manager will lead the communications team, supervise media officers, content creators, and digital associates while ensuring consistent messaging across platforms.
The statement further highlighted that the manager will be responsible for crafting engaging stories, producing content for reports, newsletters, websites, and publications, as well as managing multimedia campaigns that inspire and mobilize youth. Another important duty is growing the organization’s digital presence through social media, analyzing performance metrics, and leveraging tools for visibility.
On media relations, the position will serve as liaison with journalists, media houses, and communication partners. “The manager will draft and manage press releases, official statements, and responses while building strong connections with donors and partners,” the notice stated.
The requirements listed include a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, Marketing, or related fields, while a Master’s degree is considered an advantage. Candidates must have at least five years of progressive experience in communications, digital media management, and public relations, with strong expertise in storytelling, media buy-in, and PR.
Additional skills in digital marketing, analytics, social media management, and design are required. Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Zoho Social was emphasized.
