Kano State Hospital Management Board on August 21, 2025, commenced the screening of medical graduates for immediate recruitment into the state health sector. The directive was issued by Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery.
The recruitment covers graduates who completed their medical studies during the tenure of Sen. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and those trained under sponsorship programs provided by the current administration. Officials explained that the initiative is designed to provide automatic employment opportunities and improve access to healthcare across Kano State.
According to the Director of Administration and General Services, Mallam Auwal Idris, who chaired the session, other categories of medical officers and support officers were also considered during the process. The exercise was witnessed by dignitaries from multiple professional fields who expressed confidence that the recruitment drive would boost the state’s health workforce and reduce unemployment.
