The Federal Government, through the National Population Commission (NPC), is making arrangements to hire young Nigerians as ad-hoc staff for the forthcoming nationwide population census. The exercise, set to hold soon, will provide thousands of short-term job opportunities for qualified applicants.
This update came from Hajiya Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi Garba, the NPC Commissioner representing Kaduna State, in a Facebook post where she stated, “Census coming soon! Insha Allah… Matasa kowa ya fito da CV gaife guda insha’Allah.” The message, which translates to “Census coming soon! Insha Allah… All youths should bring their CVs, Insha Allah,” has sparked interest among young job seekers across the country.
According to the NPC, the recruitment will cover different grade levels, giving applicants with varying qualifications a chance to participate. Successful candidates will work temporarily as part of the census workforce, gaining experience and earning income while contributing to an important national project.
Hajiya Dogon Bauchi stressed that the census is not only about counting people but about collecting accurate data to help shape government policies on education, healthcare, and infrastructure. She added that advanced digital tools will be used to ensure reliable results.
With preparations in progress, the NPC is encouraging interested youths to prepare their CVs ahead of the official recruitment announcement. The upcoming census is expected to be one of the largest national data-gathering projects in recent years, creating opportunities for young Nigerians to play a direct role in national development.
