The Jigawa State Ministry of Health has officially announced the recruitment of Medical Officers into the State Civil Service. A public notice issued by the ministry confirmed that applications are open to qualified Nigerian citizens who meet specific criteria.
According to the notice, “Applicants must have completed at least MBBS degree training in a Nigeria Medical and Dental Council (NMDC) recognized medical school.” This requirement ensures candidates have received standard medical education acceptable in Nigeria.
Furthermore, the ministry stated that “applicants must possess evidence of valid and current Practicing Licence issued by the Nigeria Medical and Dental Council,” and must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or present proof of exemption. This step aligns with national employment standards and is crucial for medical practice and public sector employment.
The ministry added that “applications are invited from all Nigerians across the states of the Federation,” highlighting that this opportunity is not limited to indigenes of Jigawa alone.
Interested applicants are expected to upload copies of their CVs, MBBS certificate, NYSC certificate or exemption letter, and their current practising licence to the official portal at https://www.moh.jg.gov.ng.
The deadline for submission of applications is 17th July 2025. According to the ministry, “successful applications will be invited for interview within one week of the publication of this notice, and offers of appointment be provided instantly.”
This recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening the health sector in Jigawa and improving access to qualified medical personnel.
The announcement is expected to attract attention from both young professionals and experienced doctors across the country, especially given the increasing demand for government medical jobs with stable salary structures and pension benefits.
